My own maifest destiny

So, I saw Bridesmaids this weekend. It made me laugh. It made me cry and it made me think about my life. I related a little too much to Kristen Wiggs character.  And I guess, all I can say is that I want someone to eat carrots with.  So, all this thinking has made me decide that I am going to manifest my own destiny, sort of like the US did in the 1900s.  I have been on and off with a guy for more than 10 years. If he really loved me, we would be in the same city by now, or see one and another more than once a year. But it isn’t like that.  So, I am going to do something that I always made fun of everyone else for doing. I am going to make a vision board.  I will manifest my happiness with a man who loves me and wants to be with me. I will have my dream job as a teacher. I will have the close relationships with my friends and family that I treasure. My life will be exactly what I want, what I dream, and what I visualize it to be.  I, like everyone else, deserve to be happy.

End of the World

So, according to some guy, the world was supposed to come to an end today at 6pm.  Since, I am writing this, it is fairly obvious it didn’t. So, instead of worrying about earthquakes and other disasters, I am enjoying a skinny girl margarita and trying to motivate myself to do homework.  Pretty exciting for a Saturday night, huh?

All this talk about the end of the world has me thinking. What do I want to do before I die?  What is important to me? What do I want to accomplish.  So, I have decided to make a list, a la John Goddard for those of you who grew up in Southern California. Remember him?  And how after the John Goddard assembly you would have to make a list of all the things you wanted to do as a grown up.  Well, here I am 31 years old and there is still so much that I want to do. So here are some of the highlights, in no particular order:

  1. Write a book.
  2. Take my mom on an Alaskan cruise.
  3. Run a marathon.
  4. Finish a half marathon in less than 3 hours.
  5. Visit every MLB ballpark.
  6. Take my to see the BCS (or whatever replaces it) Championship. Hopefully with Texas playing. Hook ’em horns!
  7. Get my master’s degree.
  8. Take my niece to Disneyland.
  9. Visit all 50 nifty United States.
  10. See the Eiffel Tower at night.

These came to me in no particular order. There is so much more that I want to do.  What do you want to do?

Welcome to my World!

Welcome to stephalita says-a blog about this and that, mostly about whatever is on my mind at any given time!  I am currently waging a war in the effort to go from flab to fab.  That will probably be a topic quite often. I returned to weight lifting today for the first time in a loooooong time.  My arms feel like jelly.  Tomorrow is gonna SUCK.  I think the only thing I dislike more than lifting weights is the dentist :(.  I might even like the dentist more. My dentist is the sweetest and nicest guy you could ever meet. A true old-fashioned dentist!  Shout out to Dr. Ellis!!

I also want to sign up for and run a personal best in the 2012 Indianapolis 500 Mini Marathon. I currently run the Pasadena Half Marathon. The Pasadena Half is pretty hilly and the Indy Mini is crazy flat. So, it shouldn’t be much of a problem to set a new PR!  And I am embracing Hungry Girl and her cooking. I love junk food-not gonna lie.  Hungry Girl makes it possible for me to eat junk, but still maintain my girlish figure.  Wahoo times two!

I hope you enjoy my random thoughts….have a day!
